Stress, anxiety and depression are endemic in our busy, fast paced life. We tend to think the situations or people in our life are the causes of our stress or unhappiness, so we then spend a lot of time mentally trying to figure out how to fix those situations or people, which often makes our mind busier and depletes our energy. Buddha taught that all our unhappiness, stress and anxiety comes from our mind. More specifically it comes from unrealistic expectations and our exaggerated views of our self, people around us and the world in general. By learning to identify the actual causes of stress and unhappy thoughts, we can begin to understand how to become free from them. On this course we will explore special ways of thinking and meditations that heal the mind of the source of these problems.


Relax and Recharge

Enjoy a relaxing weekend in a quiet and peaceful environment providing a rare opportunity to switch off from the busyness of your daily life and refresh and recharge through meditation. Through meditation we can learn how to slow down the exhausting pace of life and to deeply relax by developing peaceful and positive states of mind through inner reflection and uplifting focus.


What to expect

During this weekend retreat Gen Devi will introduce simple meditation techniques that help us to develop peace of mind. The course includes practical advice on how to maintain this experience of inner calm in busy daily life, and time to discuss the ideas presented with others over delicious vegetarian meals or while enjoying the beautiful surrounding countryside.

A range of comfortable accommodation is available and meals and course fees are included within the cost. This retreat is a perfect opportunity for those new to meditation to discover its profound benefits as well as for those with experience.

This retreat begins on Friday evening at 6.00pm with supper. You can come early at 4.30pm to register and settle in. The retreat ends on Sunday afternoon after lunch around 2pm.
