Inner Purity: Nyungne – Ritual Purification Practice

April 17 – 19

The Nyungnä practice is a very profound method of purification and fasting. It is practiced in conjunction with the Elfarmed Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. This ritual purification practice is a very powerful method to purify negative karma of body, speech and mind, as well as strong delusions such as attachment and anger. It helps us develop positive energy and increase our experience of love, compassion and bodhichitta.

On both days the eight Mahayana principles are granted. Without these principles participation in the Nyungnä sessions is not possible. On the first day we have lunch only once, at noon. On the second day we fast completely. If this is not possible, it is possible to have lunch. The purification practice is done in connection with bows to the Buddha of Compassion.
