Our day courses and workshops offer you the opportunity to gain or deepen your understanding and experience in meditation and the various aspects of the Buddhist view and way of life. Each course is taught by experienced practitioners and teachers and gives you new perspectives and impulses for your daily life.

Three ways to be happy with others

If we want to live a happy life, we have to learn to be happy with others. This is not always easy, but it is possible! The timeless wisdom of the teachings of Buddha gives us three simple ways to do this. This Valentine’s Day course is based on the instructions known as “Lojong” ( training of the mind). Feel welcome to take part in this course!

Gen Kelsang Ananda is the Resident Teacher of the Tharpaland Kadampa Meditation Center (KMC) near Berlin. He is a modern Buddhist monk and highly experienced teacher of the New Kadampa Tradition. He has been engaged in the study and practice of Kadampa Buddhism for 23 years under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. He is also Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Berlin and National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition for Germany.
Gen Ananda has many years of experience teaching Buddha’s teachings of Sutra and Tantra. He is known for his good heart, deep practical understanding and accessibility.

Can we find solutions to the most profound questions of life for us? In a world full of confusion and unresolved conflicts, the teachings of Buddha can be of great help for us to gain clarity about the main questions of life.

– Who or what has created this world?

Our relationships are an essential part of life, but they can also be very painful. In this course, you will learn meditations and methods from the teachings of Buddha that heal the heart: to overcome hurts, to forgive and to put the relationship on a new foundation.

Get instructions and learn the meditations that will help you shake off all worried thoughts when you put them into practice. Based on the teachings of Buddha on the so-called eight worldly concerns such as success, safety, happiness and relationships, and how to develop an inner attitude of equanimity in relation to them. An essential topic, even more so in times like these! You are very welcome to join this course.

In an uncertain and restless world, children and parents need a place to learn how to be a stronger family, cultivate harmony and calm the mind. The workshop offers a simple introduction to the teachings of Buddha and playfully presents practical topics such as kindness, respect for others and a heart full of happiness.

One day Retreat: OM MANI PÄME HUM. Prayers and requests to the Buddha of Compassion​

Our compassion is our good heart, and the development of it is the heart of spiritual training. In this special retreat we practice the sadhana (or ritual prayer) to get closer to the Buddha of Compassion on an inner level. It is said that the benefits of practising this sadhana are endless. First and foremost, based on the instructions in The Mirror of Dharma with Additions, we practise the training in purifying and transforming the six types of beings – which is an extremely blessed instruction that comes from the Ganden Emanation scripture.

Practice day: The 35 confession Buddhas

Prostration to the 35 Confession Buddhas in combination with the Three Higher Heaps Sutra is a great, powerful purification exercise for our mind – to free it from the imprints of past negative actions and thoughts. Prostration is a great and beneficial physical and mental exercise! On this practice day you will receive an introduction to the 35 Confession Buddhas and guidance on the meditations that are part of the practice. Everyone is welcome, even those for whom this is a new practice.
